Anzac Day March in Sydney 25 April 2002

Document dated November 2003, sent by the Minister of National Defence in Warsaw promoting me to the rank of Captain in the Polish Armed Forces
(exempt from service)
RECOGNITION AT LAST ! —  50 years after the war, I lived to see the liberation of Poland and the collapse of Communist Russia's occupation of Eastern Europe.  Poland, now independent, could show to the veterans of the Polish Army in the West the appreciation for their contribution to Polish Cause during the World War 2. Unfortunately, it came too late, especially for my children who grew up without contact with their roots and without educational help in their mother language and heritage, like other migrant children in Australia have been receiving from their free mother countries.

The black truth about the Communist evil history that affected millions of people, has been kept hidden in the West during the lifetime of my children and the young generation. Russia does not intend to apologize and pay compensation like Germany did. And instead of the truth being revealed, it is revised, modified, falsified or simply erased. Click the link on the right to see an example.

The Consulate General of the free Polish Republic in Sydney (no longer Socialist People's Republic) sent me the following consolation:

(1) promotion to an officer (retired) two ranks higher in the present Polish Army
(2) I.D. card authorizing 50% discount for all travel within Poland
(3) specially instituted in Free Poland decoration : Cross for Combatant Action in the West (1939-1945), as well as recognition of all war decorations awarded by the Polish Government in Exile in London, including British decorations
(4) specially instituted in Free Poland decoration : Siberian Deportees Cross.

On the right, Certificate of my award of the Siberian Deportees Cross, dated 23 Feb 2006, signed by the president of Poland Lech Kaczynski.
